OK, I know this may seem a little premature to ask but I really want to go visit! Libya is so rich in history. A Berber served as Pharaoh of the Egyptians in 950 BC! After the Greeks, the Romans conquered Tripoli in about 100 BC which led to a golden age until 2nd century AD.
Much later ofcourse were the Ottomans and then eventually the Italians before in 1951 becoming the Kingdom of Libya. Now that didn't last long. 18 years before Gaddafi staged a coup d'etat.

Anyway if anybody managed to visit during the Colonel's rule, please, please post!
